Our keeper feels that the tough away game at Huddersfield is an encounter that the team can get a positive result from.

Speaking to Saints Player Kelvin said that there are six to eight teams you would expect to push for automatic promotion and Huddersfield will feel that they are one of those.

Kelvin knows that this will be a big test for us and after the way that they hammered us at theirs last season knows that we have to hit the ground running.

He also thinks that while we will need to be alert they will also remeber the way we took them apart at SMS last season. They will be as wary of us as we will be of them.

He also admits that since dropping down to this level we have always been playing catch-up. This time with us not being as far away a three point bag from the game will leave us right in the mix.

Kelvin said that with the way we have started pushing we are now only four points away from the automatic promotion spots and a win tomorrow will have us passing some of the teams above us to move us ever closer.

Four clean sheets in the last five games has undoubtedly beenpleasing for the manager and Kelvin stressed that the defending starts from when the team loses the ball.
He said,’It’s just a team ethic. It’s something that we have worked on for a while now and for whatever reason it’s started to click.’

‘The more often you do the right things the more chance you have of keeping a clean sheet. We learned that in training very quickly, it’s about sticking to our goals and our principles to make it as hard as possible for the opposition.’

Kelvin said also that the players have learned that the clean sheets have bred a confidence and belief in what Nigel is trying to get them to do.

He also said that the players are relaxed and happy now as they know that the manager is accessible and will listen to them and what they have to offer by way of suggestions.

The fact that we have started the long climb, and are showing distinct signs of getting it together, helps foster the good feeling that is becoming apparent.

For me the manager has proved himself to the players and that one fact helps him get his message across more readily.

All of which makes for improvement and increased performence levels. Tomorrow is a hard game but one which we could still get something from. If we do then we have really started to show our strength.
