Southampton Linked With Another Hugely Rated Championship Attacker

|

Over the weekend Southampton were being linked with a possible interest in Hull City starlet Jarrod Bowen.

The 22-year-old attacker has made quite a name for himself in recent seasons having made the breakthrough to their first team setup. He arrived at the club from non-league Hereford, with Soccerbase crediting him with eight league showings for them, with a return of one goal.

Hull had seen enough to tempt them, and having brought him to the KCOM Stadium back in 2014, he made his debut in August 2016, taking in seven Premier League games that year. The young lad hasn’t looked back and for those who keep a vague eye on players coming through and making a name for themselves, he has certainly done that, now boasting 76 starting appearances with an additional 12 showings from the substitutes bench. Across those matches he has now helped himself to 33 goals and he’s been linked with a number of clubs, and the print edition of the Sunday on Sunday (March 3), claim that we have a tentative interest in him as manager Ralph Hasenhuttl takes a more youthful approach to our future.

Bowen has already been linked with Tottenham Hotspur with talk of a £20million fee from the January window, so if we do have an interest, unless the focus changes in the Boardroom a bidding war would probably rule us out – but if there is a truth to this, given January links to the likes of Che Adams, it shows that Hasenhuttl is taking us back in the right direction when it comes to our transfer policy.
