Following earlier reports that Mark Hughes and Southampton were chasing Liverpool striker Danny Ings, that has now been rubbished.

It was being reported on Sunday that Ings was available by Liverpool for around the £20million mark as they looked to push their luck on maximising the transfer despite his lack of game time following injury. It was an incredible mark up given what they paid for him when he made the switch from Burnley but reports suggested we would only deal at around the £10million mark.

The Daily Echo have since reported that to their understanding, Southampton are playing their cards close to their chest when it comes to our next possible capture – but it’s not believed we are tracking Ings.

The caveat is, not tracking him…yet.

Whether our presumed interest in the 25-year-old changes again in the coming weeks, we’ll simply have to wait and see but the rumour mill is in full swing and anything can happen, as transfers will soon start hotting up as the deadline nears.
