Earlier this month, Southampton winger Mohammed Elyounoussi was pretty strongly linked with a switch out to Turkish side Besiktas.
Report Suggests Turkish Side Have Reached An “Agreement” With Southampton Winger Over Loan
The original report suggested that Besiktas had made the 25-year-old their top target ahead of the European transfer window slamming shut in September and following his £16million arrival last summer, it seems he will now spent the 2019/20 campaign out in Turkey if an update from outlet Fanatik is to be believed.
They seem to be suggesting that an agreement has been struck for a season long loan arrangement (we were apparently asking for a 1.5million Euro fee but we have come to an agreement at 500,000 Euros), but it’s not expected that there will be a permanent clause in the deal.
I’m presuming here if we did lower the loan fee to that level, we’re simply hoping he has a really good campaign and that increases the permanent interest in him next year given the reported £16million we paid FC Basel for his services originally.
If the report is accurate, the deal should be completed before the end of the week.
