Southampton Sign Frazer Richardson

Charlton right back Frazer Richardson has signed for the Saints on a three year deal.

This brings home the strength that other teams see us as having. It has to be another big step forward for the club as we have added a player from last season’s League One Team of the year.

The 27 year old has a high reputation and at his age could stake a claim for his place for a few years.

The former Leeds right back and captain spent 7 years at Elland Road. He was well liked up there and only cemented his reputation when moving to Charlton.

He only stayed a year at the Valley but he impressed and played over 40 games. He played against us twice and did well in both games.

Charlton nearly succeeded in bouncing straight back to the CCC last season. They failed against Swindon by losing to them in the play-offs in a penalty shoot-out.

This is a clear sign to all doubters that our club is in safe hands. When we make a move it is silently and it usually sticks.

Welcome to Southampton Frazer and long may we enjoy you wearing our colours.
