It’s been reported this week that Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has turned his attentions to Leeds United starlet Jack Clarke as a potential target for the January transfer window.
The original report comes from Italian based outlet Calciomercato and it’s barely even a paragraph of information, so I don’t believe this one is reliable at all.
It simply ticks the boxes that suggest Southampton under Hasenhuttl will have a far more prominent youthful feel once again with a real pathway through for youngsters once more at the club.
Clarke certainly ticks that box with his growing development in the campaign of 2018/19 as he features pretty regularly for manager Marcelo Bielsa now, although mostly as a substitute as they continue working on his game.
He’s already been heavily linked with Manchester City as well with it said that Pep Guardiola is a fan of the winger. As said, I don’t see this one coming off but it is the right sort of player we should be linked with given how successful we have been previously in developing young talent.
