Leeds Utd winning in the manner that they did will have sent a warning shot out to rivals. It says that they could be back and firing on all cylinders again.

With Leeds in second place and pushing for automatic promotion we know it will be a hard game. They still have hopes of catching Norwich at the top being only 4 points behind them.

Saints after a very poor start to the season have improved a lot. When we met Leeds in December we lost 1-0 at Elland Road, with Robert Snodgrass scoring a late goal.

Saints have won their last 6 league games played at home and are unbeaten in the last eleven. The last two saw them scoring 5 in each and against other teams hoping for promotion.

Leeds United have a good record at Southampton having won 19 games, lost eighteen and drawn seven. In the last twenty yearts there has been no no-score draws. So goals are likely and with this match being between two high scoring teams this season, we could see a few being scored.

  • The game is getting ever closer. I have to admit that the butterflies have started as we wait to see the Leeds of today appear. Please let it be a good clean contest.

  • No reason for butterflies if Pardew has forgotten to be afraid. I just never know what to expect from him.

  • You can say what you like and as a rule the table doesnt lie. This season Leeds are pressing for the title and will maybe get it. We have struggled and are now on the up but are still slightly fragile in defence. Yes we can win but yes I am concerned with the arrival of what is probably the best side in the league.

  • Dazza you very nearly called it as we missed a few goalden opportunities in the first half. The goal that wasn’t should have counted as well.
