Ralph Hasenhuttl has been busy ringing the changes on and off the field.

Before finalising the capture of Che Adams from Birmingham and the departure of Matt Targett to Aston Villa, he also had a reshuffle of his staff, according to a club statement.

Dave Watson has been promoted from goalkeeping coach to first team assistant coach, while Andrew Sparkes will now take over the position left by Watson.

Kelvin Davis will continue his work with the first team group in the role of first-team assistant coach. He has also been given more responsibility and will also become the link to the senior academy players, ensuring those players are prepared for the first team.

Matt Hale has been promoted to academy director and will oversee the development of all age groups from Under-8s to Under-23s.

The statement explained the changes will be effective immediately, ahead of the club reuniting for pre-season training.

Following a shake-up in the boardroom last month, Saints will now feel they have made the necessary adjustments, especially off the pitch, to have a successful league campaign.

The Telegraph reported the Austrian still wants to move on a possible five senior first-team players, with a central defender high on his wishlist.
