Sunderland v Saints – Draw Could Be perfect

Saints travel north to face a Sunderland side that is deep in the relegation battle. Saints are still not mathematically safe but I can see no way Wigan can gain enough points now to catch us.

I know in theory that Wigan could gain a surprise win at Arsenal but on last night’s performance that seems highly unlikely. In which case Saints will have enough points for safety and Sunderland need just the one point for them to be safe.

This could easily take the fear factor away from both sets of players and a bright open attacking game could be possible. I would not though, be surprised to see a tame draw between Saints and Sunderland as a result of Wigan’s defeat.

Not that I am expecting that as I believe both teams will go for it.
