Dusan Tadic has said he’s hoping Southampton can repeat last year’s trip to Old Trafford when we face Manchester United this weekend.

Having come off the bench to score in back to back wins over Watford and West Brom, Tadic is in confident mood as he spoke to the Daily Echo in his own pre game press interviews, and he talked about his hopes of seeing a repeat on the ground where he scored his best Southampton strike so far.

Registering a first win over United at Old Trafford in 27 years in 2014-15, Tadic hit the winner as a substitute again six minutes after coming onto the pitch.

‘Happy memories, that was really good. It`s one of the best memories, for me and for the club. It would be nice for it to be the same result but we need to respect Man Utd. They are one of the biggest teams and also play good football. They have played good games and sometimes they have not been so lucky. It`s always hard to play against them. We will go with confidence but you never know with football. The most important thing is that we play well as a team. Then it is easier for everyone to show what they can do.’

There’s also a reunion with Morgan Schneiderlin following his move to them over the summer, but putting that aside Tadic went on to talk about the confidence everyone was in following on from the West Brom victory.

‘The first goal from Prowsey was important. It opened the game, made it a different game.’

Having added the third himself, he said really it killed the game off and made for a nice final 20 minutes.

‘It made life more easy. The game was finished after that. It was a nice ball from Dave-o and it was a good finish. It was a good goal. The most important thing is we took three points. ‘It was an important week for us: two wins, two clean sheets.’
