Given speculation linking Dusan Tadic with a switch from Southampton to Ajax this summer, earlier today Sky Sports claimed that their sources had told them talks were now at a very advanced stage on what could be an £18million deal for the Serbian international.

Tadic is expected to play in tonight’s World Cup winner takes all clash against Brazil out in Russia and it’s expected our 29-year-old will be off this summer despite being our top goalscorer and top assister in 2017/18.

The surprise really came owing to the relationship and his uplift in form under Mark Hughes so many believed he would be a key player moving forward under him.

We’re certainly moving quick though as the same outlet are reporting that we are on the verge of announcing the capture of Basel youngster Mohamed Elyounoussi. They say we are working on a deal worth around the £16million mark for the 23-year-old Norwegian international and he already has 16 caps to his name for his country.

He can operate on either wing or as a striker so he will provide options if we manage to get him. He scored 14 times in 45 appearances for Basel last season, including two goals in the Champions League where their journey came to an end against Manchester City.
