The future of Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini is a regular topic of discussion when it comes to St Mary’s gossip sections in the press.
Each transfer window there are numerous links suggesting a return to Italy and Serie A side Napoli are the usual go-to club for the media, and each window we get quotes from his agent insisting he’s happy at the club, that he wants to stay in the Premier League and that all options remain open, but he has previously turned down the chance to move away from the club.
Gabbiadini’s game time under manager Mark Hughes, and it’s also fair to say Gabbiadini’s performances and lack of goals when called upon, mean these speculative stories won’t be disappearing anytime soon – but his agent has again been in the media repeating the same lines and I can’t not ask, wouldn’t it be quicker to put in a transfer request as even I’m getting bored of it now.
Calciomercato carry his agents quotes from a recent radio interview with Radio Sportiva.
If Gabbiadini is genuine about not wanting to move, he might want to tell his agent to shut his mouth for a few months as eventually, a majority of fans will feel they are being made mugs of, and they will turn and if he does want to stay and his performances don’t significantly improve, we’ll want to be shot of him.
At the moment we want him to get more game time and come good again.
