It was a busy day on Wednesday for Southampton, not only did Academy graduate Kayne Ramsay pen his first professional deal, but England youth international Jake Vokins also extended his time with us by two years.

Having moved to the club as an 8-year-old, Vokins is celebrating a decade with us and that time isn’t up with a new contract extension keeping him at Staplewood until the summer of 2021.
Having come through the Under 18 group, now 18-year-old Vokins is adjusting to life at Under 23 level with gaffer Radhi Jaidi as he continues his development and whilst he admitted to saintsfc that the difference had proven to provide challenges of its own, he’s getting there and the group are unbeaten so far in 2018/19.

The young defender did join the first team for our tour of China during pre-season so this latest news will only be a further boost for him as he looks to kick on and make a name for himself at the club.
