This Speculation About Everton Winger Makes Sense For Southampton

|

With some bizarre reports this week suggesting that Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl would make a move for Everton’s Yannick Bolasie, now we are being linked with Ademola Lookman, that sounds far more likely.

Our Austrian manager worked with the highly rated 21-year-old young talent during his spell out on loan at RB Leipzig in the second half of the 2017/18 campaign and he did well, making seven appearances (four substitute showings) and he returned five goals.

He hasn’t reached the same heights at Everton under manager Marco Silva this season, making only six starts, but he hasn’t featured 18 times from the bench but given RB’s rather public chase of him last summer, most accept his head was turned and that has affected his season.

With his future remaining in doubt after his lack of progress last season, the Independent were one of a number of outlets to suggest a reunion at St Mary’s Stadium, but predictably they did go with £20million as the fee – that was reportedly what RB offered and failed with.

There could be legs in this one though as Hasenhuttl has got the best out of him previously.
