Plenty of Southampton fans have been salivating over Che Adams as he scored the winning goal during his side’s 1-0 victory against Manchester City on Sunday.
The 23-year-old made the move to St Mary’s in the summer following his Β£15m move from Birmingham City, where he had a prolific goalscoring record.
However, Adams had a slow start to life in a red and white by going 24 games without scoring. That was until last season’s Premier League champions rolled into town.
Who was your MOTM?
Adams
Walker-Peters
Bednarek
The Englishman made the most of an error from the Citizens’ midfield and saw goalkeeper Ederson off his line, hitting an audacious shot over the Brazilian’s head and into the empty net. Adams took to Twitter after the game and simply said, “trust the process”.
Unsurprisingly, supporters were thrilled with Adams and made their feelings clear about him on social media. One fan said that it was “thoroughly deserved” and that he was pleased with him, while another simply described him as a “king”.
