Time For The Pochman To Show His Worth

Mauricio has only had three games in charge and it seems that the players are adapting to his style with vigour and no little belief.

From the three games we have seen it appears that the main alteration has been with us playing a more pressing style with us pushing higher up the pitch.

That change plus the quicker passing of the ball has meant that in all of the last three games we have looked by far the better team in each match.

The only drawback has been with the results of these games. One defeat and two draws does not show a fair reflection of how each game has gone.

We are a team that scores goals as against some of our relegation fighting opponents, yet we have squandered far to many chances in my humble opinion.

In the last three games for example we have had in the region of 52 opportunities and scored from just three of them. This is not good enough in my book.

That averages out at 1 goal every 17 chances or so and we clearly need to improve on that.

Many people look at our failure to defend at set pieces but with the way our team is set up I prefer to look at the front end. How do we start to see more chances getting converted?

Try to improve the defending by all means and with Forren soon to be included that part of the problem may be helped if not fully solved.

For me though the main problem the Pochman needs to address, is our conversion rate of chances made.

If we had scored just one in ten of those 52 attempts we could be sitting four points better of and higher up the table.

Time for Mauricio to prove his worth and get our bullets hitting the target.
