Nigel Adkins has said he had to do very little today thanks to the massive travelling support the Saints received.

Speaking to saintsfc the manager saluted the 5,820 strong crowd that followed the team to London and he thanked them for spurring the team onto a comfortable victory.

‘The supporters were great. We were on the bus coming in and they were outside the pubs singing and it put the hairs on the back of your next standing up. It was brilliant. The lads were up, you don’t realise guys what a fantastic job you’re doing because you don’t need a team talk because they are there and ready.’

Adkins was also delighted by the performance, and our winning goals.

‘It was great composure from the players, we knew they would be a threat but we’ve gone and scored two. The first goal we scored I was delighted with because it was something we’d talked about and worked on. It was great for the players. It was great composure, great resilience. We have to make sure we keep a calmness about ourselves and give our fantastic supporters the opportunity to take this fantastic club back to where it belongs.’
