|

Southampton make the trip to West Ham United this coming Saturday for our penultimate Premier League fixture of the 2018/19 campaign.

Following the arrival of Austrian manager Ralph Hasenhuttl to St Mary’s stadium, fans have seen a noticeable turn in form and performances and ultimately our relegation worries for the year came to an end as we took a point from the 3-3 draw with Bournemouth.

With a comfortable points advantage over Cardiff City and relegation becoming a mathematical impossibility, whilst we might see a few more youngsters given a chance to impress in the final two, Hasenhuttl will definitely want us to end on a high.

In terms of achieving that, our gaffer only has to juggle four injuries during the buildup to the game. Physioroom.com have three players as being doubts for the game and they are Maya Yoshida, Alex McCarthy and Jan Vestergaard.

Yoshida is only tagged with having an illness, so he may come into thoughts, but McCarthy (knock) and Vestergaard (groin strain) are listed as major doubts for the game.

Michael Obafemi continues to rehabilitate from his long term hamstring injury.
