Former Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini departed St Mary’s Stadium back in the January transfer window and became one of new manager Ralph Hasenhuttl’s first transfer dealings having arrived at the club.

We undoubtedly didn’t see the best of the 27-year-old during his spell at the club but we certainly saw flashes of what he was capable of after the Italian arrived from Napoli back in January 2017 for a reported £14.6million.

In 29 starting appearances and a further 31 substitute showings, he returned 12 goals in total but only one of them came in the first half of this campaign. He has found better form out with Sampdoria though, scoring four times in 14 appearances.

With Southampton securing their Premier League safety this weekend as we drew 3-3 with Bournemouth, he had two simple words for Southampton fans as he watches on from afar.
