“Underrated, Understated Top Professional” – Goodbye But Thanks For The Memories As Saints Man Departs

With last night’s confirmation of midfielder Steven Davis leaving Southampton on a loan spell to return to former club Rangers, it does bring the curtain down on a special player for many in our shirt.

Six and a half years later, he heads off after well over 200 appearances in our shirt, and plenty of fans are sad to see him leave believing that he could still perform a role for us. The decision has been taken though, and Rangers took to social media to thank their club for their efforts in helping the deal go through, so we’ve done right by the player in recognition of his efforts for us and part to play or not, he will undoubtedly get increased game time at Ibrox and I guess that’s what he wants.

Plenty of memories though and fans taking to social media to react to the news certainly had plenty of praise and love for him.

Be nice to get a chance to give him a proper send off at some point in the future, so maybe a pre-season visit in the years to come?
