Vital Southampton And Our Oz Friends

We have all had the scenes of devastation shown to us on our tv screens. Maybe because Australia is a modern civilised country we feel this hurt with the locals.

The fact that a lot of our boards have some Aussies posting on their sites also helps bring the pain home to us.

Networks like ours are a way for our friends to remain in touch with their clubs and I know from their posts how much they will be suffering.

Many ex-pats will be seeing their lifes work drifting away from them, and their is nothing seemingly that they can do to stop it.

Some of us will know people who live in the Oz regions involved, and will hopefully know that friends and family are safe.

The harrowing pictures are frightening in the extremeand we are told that today the area will see the flood hit it’s peak.

As my relatives are safely ensconced in dry areas of Oz I do not need to feel so alarmed but some on our network will not be so lucky.

Nothing to do with football I know but my thoughts go out to the people of Queensland, and I hope that the drama ends soon.

After all, with power lines down, and many people unable to move, everything will be halted. World aid will help but nothing will be able to remove the pain and anguish.

No food, no power and no hint of an end to this news yet. Sport will be a no no and it will take months for some areas to recover.

There might even be a board or to on this network that has seen posters disappear with no news of how they are.

Our thoughts are with all that are involved in this calamity.
