Midfielder Victor Wanyama has apologised to his team mates and the fans for his double yellow card in the one nil loss to Norwich City at the weekend.

With the Carrow Road hosts taking the lead moments after his dismissal, and with Wanyama taking flak from the manager for a silly and costly tackle when he was already on a booking, the Kenyan took to Instagram to speak to the fans.

‘I would just like to apologise to the manager, fans and everyone at the club for my red card yesterday. It was reckless and irresponsible and I should have used my experience to have not let it happen, especially when I was on a yellow card. I now just want to focus on getting back on the pitch and helping the team as much as I can.’

A chance for somebody else now to step up and stake a claim with the automatic suspension he will face, but unless my marbles are finally gone it should only be one or two games missed as with the amnesty on yellow cards kicking in I think that plays in his favour but that will no doubt be confirmed in time.
