Midfielder James Ward-Prowse has hit another sterling goal for Gareth Southgate’s England under 21s and this time round it proved to be the winner over Germany.

I saw this last night on the Vital England site so won’t overly repeat but following the three two victory over Germany, where England had to come from behind, 20 year old Ward-Prowse told Thefa.com.

‘It`s one of a few at the minute. It`s good to get the winner and a winner against Germany is fantastic for this group of lads. We`ve shown not only in the last week, but in recent months, that we can beat the top teams and we can perform. We win games and we win them well and there`s a great team spirit going into the summer.’

JWP went on to say that obviously successful teams rarely always have it their way so coming from behind in the match, not playing their best football but showing the mentality to still eek out the win will be very important for them but obviously it’s also important for his development with us.

‘If you look at the most successful teams it`s not always plain sailing. You are going to get things that you have to try and avoid but I think we`ve shown that we`ve got great character in our squad to get back to winning ways. We`ve shown we can perform at the top level, that`s the big thing that the manager is trying to get across and everybody is trying to share the same goal of where we want to be in the summer.’

Having made 23 appearances for us so far this season, he is yet to find the net but it is becoming somewhat of a regular habit at under 21 level and there of course have been plenty of youtube clips of his strikes and his training attempts that have caught people’s eyes.

This one certainly should for his reactions and placement.
