The sudden exclusion of Cedric Soares on the weekend against Tottenham caused heads to turn not just for Southampton fans but also Ralph Hasenhuttl himself as reproted by The Southern Daily Echo, yet the man himself has finally cleared the air.
Unfortunately couldn’t help my team due an injury during the warming up for the Tottenham game but I’m working on a speedy recovery. pic.twitter.com/S5pemNhGe7

The Portuguese defender admitted in a Twitter post that he was injured during the warmup at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before kick-off, forcing him to sit the game out and see James Ward-Prowse take up the makeshift role of right-wingback for the Saints.
A 2-1 defeat promptly followed, yet despite Cedric admitting his reasoning for his absence against the north London side, Southampton supporters on social media were largely okay with the defender missing the fixture.
Here is what some Southampton fans had to say on Twitter following the Portuguese international’s confession…
We certainly missed you !!

It's really odd that the manager thinks you weren't injured… communication breakdown I guess.

Cedric has been in-and-out of the Saints team all season, with numbers from Transfermarkt showing that the defender has made just five apperances.
