The Southampton striker bagged a brace in the Saints’ 4-0 win over Portsmouth in the League Cup, and as if supporters didn’t have enough reason to love their new-found hero, Ings spoke highly of the fans who were there at Fratton Park on the night to back up the team.
As expected, Southampton fans on social media loved what Ings had to say about the community surrounding the club, and took to social media to praise the striker for his words and for his vital actions on Tuesday.
