A decision has been taken on which group of officials will take charge of Southampton’s next top flight clash.

Southampton face Arsenal on Sunday April 8 at the Emirates Stadium and the game has been given a 2.15pm kick off.

Referee: Andre Marriner
Assistant Refs: Scott Ledger and Simon Long
Fourth Official: Mike Dean

Match Day referee Marriner has officiated 29 games in 2017/18, showing 75 yellow cards and three red cards so far.

He took in 37 games in 2016/17, returning 146 yellow cards and seven red cards.

Last month Marriner was in charge of our three nil defeat to Newcastle United where he showed the only two yellow cards of the game to us.

Mark Hughes shouldn’t see that as a bad omen though, Marriner has been in charge of four Arsenal games this year and they’ve lost three of them and uncharacteristically Arsene Wenger saw every mistake he apparently made in those games.

The last time Wenger had to deal with Mike Dean he also had to serve a three game touchline ban, so maybe our luck turns?
