With just three games remaining in the Championship, tomorrow night will see the teams at the top battle it out as they fight for a place in the Premier League.

The Saints travel to Peterborough, while West Ham, just three points behind, travel to Bristol City.

League leaders Reading have a home tie with Nottingham Forest and could seal promotion if they win and the Hammers fail to get three points at Ashton Gate.

Bristol City are just four points above Coventry City, who occupy the last relegation place, so the Robins need a win just as much as Sam Allardyce’s men.

Southampton need a win to consolidate their position in second place and Nigel Adkins’ men have just completed a tough week, playing three games.

First came the visit of Portsmouth, in what was a dramatic 2-2 south- coast derby game at St Mary’s.

The Saints then travelled to Crystal Palace, and deservedly picked up the three points, before losing to Reading at home, to give the Royals top spot.

But there are still three important games to go, and at 10pm tomorrow night, all three sets of supporters will have a better idea of what league their teams will be playing in next season.
