Mark Wotte has revealed that his players are going to be patient while the club try and generate the cash to pay their wages.

Wotte had the horrible job of ringing the players, some of whom were enjoying their summer holidays, to inform them that they were not going to receive their wages from May.

Joint administrator Mark Fry informed the St. Mary’s staff and addressed them with the same message. Fry pleaded for patience and another weeks work, so that he can get the sufficient funds to pay all of the St. Mary’s staff.

Wotte revealed that the response from the players was good, with them all understanding the predicament, and all willing to be patient.

He told the Daily Echo: “I rang all the players and explained the situation – that everybody`s working very hard to get the wages paid and hopefully we can do it.

“Everybody was understanding of the situation.

“I asked the players to be patient for a couple of days and hopefully we`ll have better news on Monday.’
