Would £8million Be Enough For Key Rangers Player – Reports

|

With some speculation the other week linking Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl with a potential interest in Rangers midfielder Scotty Arfield, there’s been a fresh link with Ibrox this weekend and I see far more sense in this one.

The Daily Mail ran a piece on Saturday claiming that we had an interest in £8million rated fullback James Tavernier.

The 27-year-old attacking right back is the current Rangers skipper and in 47 appearances for Steven Gerrard this year, across all competitions including their Europa League efforts, he’s chipped in with 16 goals and 20 assists – although he is their main penalty taker.

Back in the January transfer window, he was linked with moves to both Brighton and Hove Albion and West Bromwich Albion, but from our point of view it’s an interesting one given we know we want to move Cedric Soares on and find competition for Yan Valery.

With it claimed that £8million would force them into doing a deal despite a new contract being recently signed, the only real question is, is he worth that?
