It seems crazy to think now that not too long ago Southampton were one of the most exciting teams in England and regularly finishing in the Premier League top-seven.

With quality players and an even more impressive coaching staff, the Saints were one of the more bigger sides in the country unlike what we have no come to experience from the south coast team in the past few seasons, and a recent starting XI from this golden generation of football from Southampton has recently come to light on social media.
With the likes of Sadio Mane, Toby Alderweireld and Dusan Tadic in the starting team, it seems almost crazy to think of a time when Southampton could field such quality names.
And fans on social media were revelling in the impact that side had on the Premier League as well as predict where this XI would finish in the English top-flight now.
Here is what some Saints fans had to say on Twitter…
That team would have an excellent chance in the Chamipions League.

Can’t say I would mind if we could field that side now

Some fans, though, weren’t too impressed with what they saw…
Surely can field a better team than that.. Goalie always been An issue, but VVD, Shaw/Bridge, Lallana, Bale, Oxlade Chamberlin a start

Southampton finished 16th in the table last season, whereas former players Mane, Alderweireld and Virgil van Dijk contested in the Champions League final.
