Saints have today confirmed the signing of Bradley Wright-Phillips from Manchester City.

The player has joined the club for an undisclosed fee on a three year contract. Saints have confirmed that they have used the 250k they won from Coca-Cola to complete the signing.

The England Under 20 International, who is half brother of Chelsea’s Shaun, has made 32 first team appearances for City, 31 of them from the substitutes bench. He has scored 2 goals for city, one of them against Middlesbrough on his debut.

The signing puts an end to the speculation about the identity of the ‘young premiership striker’ with whom Saints were negotiating.

Wright-Phillips will be a welcome addition to the squad and will bolster a strike force which let the team down with lack of goals at times last season.
