Saints youth team thrashed Crystal Palace 4-0 at Selhurst Park tonight, to make it through to the semi final of the FA youth cup for the second year running.

Theo Walcott was in the stands to watch his mates cruise to victory. In the teams league meeting in December Saints won 7-1 and the home team must have been fearing the worst when they were reduced to ten men early in the match.

Saints pressurised Palace but couldn’t find a breakthrough until early in the second half, when David McGoldrick opened the scoring with a neat turn and shot.

As The Eagles tired Saints piled on the pressure, adding further goals from Lallana, Dutton-Black and Bale to complete the rout.

Geoges Prost’s all conquering team will now face either Liverpool or Carlisle for a chance to reach another final in the prestigious competition.
