Tuesday evening saw a pretty full calendar of games in the EFL and Burton Albion were in action against Portsmouth and Southampton youngster Jake Hesketh only went an opened his club account for them as they took a point from the tie in a 2-2 draw.
The 22-year-old youngster made the switch to the Brewers last August for his first loan spell away from Staplewood and he opened the scoring for Nigel Clough’s team in the 52nd minute. Having taken the ball down on the edge of the box, he tricked his marker and sailed past two defenders before rifling home.
Even the Portsmouth social media feed had to give him credit for his effort.

Given the opposition on the day his solo effort went over incredibly well with Southampton fans, and quite rightly, Burton Albion fans as well.

Hesketh now has seven starting appearances to his name with the Pirelli Stadium outfit and three additional showings from the substitutes bench and having opened his account now in League One, plenty would back him to add to that tally in the coming months.
