The young centre back is currently enjoying his longest run of games in the first team, and hopes that his prolonged spell will continue by getting a win under the team’s belt on Saturday at Millwall.

With Jos Hooiveldt now injured as well he could easily get selected and it is hoped that Jose Fonte can return to partner him, though it is not yet known whether Jose will be fit enough to start. This could leave the selection of our defence being left to the last minute.

There are a couple of options open to us if Jose is unavailable to start as Jack Cork has played in defence before. Danny Fox was moved across from left back when Jos suffered his injury in our game against Leicester and we also have a couple of highly rated youngsters who might get a call.

The former Eastleigh youngster has played five consecutive games which is his longest run of games so far for the Saints.Against Leicester he had probably his worst game for us but with the whole team looking out of sorts he can not be held to task over this.

He is looking forward to this game as it gives him a chance to help Saints gain another win in the cup. With players out with injury this could well be another really difficult game for us but Aaron is quite upbeat about our chances.

With Tadanari Lee soon to play Aaron says that he has been delighted by the way Lee has appeared to settle. He said that Lee looks lively and will work well feeding off of Rickie Lambert with him having speed of feet and mind.

He was also pleased to see the return of Jason Puncheon as he feels that Punch has plenty to offer the team and will add another option to our attacking instincts. He added that the team was pleased to welcome him back into the fold.

The mood appears good within the camp and I would be less worried if I knew that Jose was back to full fitness. With Aaron looking to help us keep a clean sheet and maybe nick a goal at the other end you have to admire the confidence.
