Nigel Adkins couldn’t control his joy after we demolished Aston Villa today at St Mary’s. The result finally matched the performance.
Speaking to saintsfc after the 4-1 victory on home soil, the gaffer said.
‘We created opportunities and controlled the football for long spells. Rickie has now scored four goals and I thought the combination between him and Gaston was mouth watering. Likewise at the back, Maya Yoshida has had a brilliant game.
Adkins also talked about swopping Kelvin Davis for Paulo Gazzaniga.
‘I thought he had a very good game today, Kelvin has been outstanding since I joined the club but I had to make a decision. I spoke to Kelvin who reacted exactly as I expected, in a professional manner because he’s a top bloke.’
