SOUTHAMPTON have announced that Gareth Bale’s agent David Manesseh refused to discuss terms of a new deal with the Saints.

In a statement released by Southampton a spokesman said: ‘Saints are still hoping Bale and his representatives will discuss the possibility of a new contract.

‘They would be delighted if he extended his current deal beyond June 2008 but so far Bale’s agent has been reluctant to engage in contract negotiations with the club’.

  • Hold on, so when the media was reporting that he had turned down a contract, we hadn’t actually been able to offer him one?

  • F***ing typical. Bloody agents ruining the game, taking all the money for themselves and constructing moves that aren’t in the interests of the player. Only their bank balances. GRRRR!!!
