Billy nearly joined us last summer but circumstances led to him staying with today’s opponents Doncaster until January.
He is ambitious and is looking forward to helping us reach the Premiership and then playing against the top teams.
He says in the programme, ‘There were a number of circumstances, the main one that I was just getting over an injury which had kept me out for the last couple of months of the 2010/2011 season.’
Saints had just won promotion to the Championship and how we would fare was not certain he explained.
‘But by January the picture was a lot clearer. They were top of the Championship with a good chance of going up to the Premier League and like all footballers it’s my ambition to play in the top flight one day.’
He will be a more than useful acquisition I am sure and I won’t be surprised if he is selected to play against his old team today.
