SOUTHAMPTON manager George Burley appears to be telling one paper one thing and another something completely different.

Yesterday we reported that Phil Brown had hoped to bring Prutton to Hull City.

Then this morning, Burley told the Echo that he did not want Burley to leave.

But according to Phil Brown, Burley has made it clear that Prutton is available for transfer.

Speaking to the Hull Daily Mail he said: ‘George (Burley) has said the player is available for transfer because he’s in the same situation as Craig Fagan where his contract is up.

‘They are looking to recoup some of the money that they paid for him.

‘As a former England under-21 player, he is the type of player that you would be interested in to hopefully take the club to the next level.

‘Because of that, we are looking at discussions with Southampton’.
