SOUTHAMPTON manager George Burley has said that Derby County’s transfer window acquisitions has shown a real desire for promotion.

Championship leaders Derby County signed 7 new players during the January transfer window. Something Burley is obviously envious of as he was only able to bring in 1 player on loan.

Speaking to the Echo he said: ‘The signings last month speak volumes for the new board there.

‘It shows you the desire to get promoted.

‘They’ve brought in seven new players in January, so they’re really going for it.

‘It’s going to be tough but we’re in good form.

  • If our target is to win the league we have to win this match, if it’s to win promotion, then I`d take a draw.
