Richard Chaplow returns for the Saints to face Millwall.

Saints have missed Chaplow since he picked up his knee injury in the 1-0 defeat at Bristol City on November 26.

The side have struggled without his presence and energy he brings to the team – and have only picked up 13 points out of the potential 30 without the midfielder.

But, Saints manager Nigel Adkins has confirmed that the 27-year-old will feature against Millwall in the fourth round replay on Tuesday night.

“Richard Chaplow will start the game,’ he said.

This is huge news for Southampton as the club looks to move forward since their blip in form. The club has been boosted by the return of Jose Fonte, and new signings Tandanari Lee and Billy Sharp have given the promotion candidates a fresh look.

And Adkins is pleased with how his side are looking as they have three tough games in the space of seven days.

“I look at the group of players we`ve got and we`re strong,” he added.

“We`ve got good competition for places and we can deal with the injuries and suspensions that are going to come along.

“We`re playing every three days, that`s what it is now.’
