The Addicks took the lead in the twentieth minute when Callum Harriott curled a shot past Tommy Forecast after a good run.

The game continued with chances to both sides but no more scoring was done in the first half.

The second half was again fairly even until Akpo Sodje ran on to a fine through ball and hit it home past Forecast to double the score.

With Ryan Doble again away on international duty with the Welsh under 21’s, young Jordace Holder-Spooner was brought in after his compelling performance for the Under 18’s.

Alongside Jordace was fellow youth team player, Joe Curtis.

Plenty of chances were made at both ends with Callum McNish going closest on a few occasions for the Saints.

Martin Hunter thought that the side deserved a draw but were unfortunate with chances going begging.

He also said that he was disappointed by both the goal’s we conceded as they were both poor. The second in particular being down to individual errors.

So a lack of goal power meant that the team suffered a defeat that they could reflect upon as they drove back down to the South Coast.
