Former Saint ‘Pele’ could be lining up against us this season, with the Portuguese defender on trial at Milton Keynes Dons.

The versatile defender signed for the club during the George Burley era that saw 7 million pounds in transfer fee`s spent over 2 years, resulting in a narrow playoff defeat and a less successful second season.

Perhaps I`m just a pessimist but my own greatest memory of him was giving away that penalty in the home leg of the playoff semi final, as he stupidly pulled down Derby`s winger to see us lose the first leg. That goal seemingly cost us in the second leg as well with an eventual defeat on penalties.

A £1 million move to West Brom followed so perhaps he was better than I thought, though he failed to make a real impact and was most recently at Falkirk in the SPL. So maybe not.

If he signs for MK perhaps he will show us what we missed out on, though I for one won`t have too many problems if he brings down Puncheon in the box, easier for Lambert to continue our winning streak against them.

‘We beat you 4 times! We beat you 4 times! You`re f***ing sh*t! We beat you 4 times!` – lets hope that with Pele in their team we can be singing that at the Stadium MK once again as we march on through league 1.

  • Thought we had seen the last of him to be honest. He was a big disappointment to me as he never seemed to be quite at ease with us.

  • I still remember the Derby playoff match…. that useless **** cost us a place in the bloody final!

  • I never took to him and was really fed up when he cost us a chance to get back up via the Wembley final
