A week off will do Burley’s men no harm, it gives them a chance to try and turn things around on the training pitch and gives others with injury problems a chance to recover.
Saints next match is against Wolves a week on Saturday, Kenwyne Jones, Darren Powell, Djamel Belmadi and Chris Baird are all doubtful, but the time off gives them a chance.
Burley told the Echo: ‘I’m glad we have got the break.
‘It gives us more chance for Kenwyne Jones, Djamel Belmadi, Darren Powell and Chris Baird to try and get fit.
‘It gives them an extra week and we’ll see how they progress. It gives them a little bit longer’.
