Saints gaffer George Burley has told Sheffield Wednesday that Kenwyne Jones is not for sale.

Jones had a loan spell with Sheffield Wednesday in 2004, scoring 7 goals in 7 games for the then League One side.

He had an impressive year last season as Burley continued to tinker with his selections.

Burley told the Echo: ‘Sheffield Wednesday asked me about Kenwyne and we said he’s not for sale – simple as that.’

Burley also rejected reports that Wednesday had made a £2million offer for the Trinidad and Tobago international.
