Rickie Lambert has talked about his England debut, his debut goal and sealing the winner for Saints today.
Speaking to Saintsfc following the game against Albion today, he explained that he had been left ‘overjoyed’ following the week he has had, and today he said was the perfect way to end those 7 days.
‘It’s a great way to finish the week. It’ll be a week I’ll never forget and to finish it off with a win for Saints is superb.’
Lambert adds that he believes our defensive performance today was ‘warrior like’ because Albion are a tough team but we dealt with everything they could throw at us and really limited their options – as they did against him until Shaw’s ‘little bit of magic’ gave him the match winning opportunity from the spot.
