Mauricio Pochettino has said our performances the last few weeks, coupled with today’s win against Liverpool, show that the hard work on the training pitch is starting to pay off.
Speaking to saintsfc following the game, the manager explained.
‘Today we are really happy and satisfied with the result. Sometimes you do the same kind of work and have a similar feeling about a game as we did today and you don’t get the victory, but at the end of the day all of the work we do is to get three points.’
The work isn’t over for Poch though as he says he’s the kind of character that is always looking for improvement, and that’s the challenge he has set the team.
‘We still have a lot of work ahead of us and this is really only the start because two months in football isn’t a long time. I have an intelligent team that has responded well to my ideas and things are progressing faster that we thought they would.
Poch points towards Coutinho’s goal as something they must fix, because we can’t allow ourselves to concede goals like that.
