St. Mary’s will see a capacity crowd when Manchester United come to the south coast. The last tickets were sold yesterday following a surge of fans queuing and ringing for the last few thousand tickets.
The English, European and now World Champions will be visiting St. Mary’s on the 4th January with Setanta Sports providing live coverage of the 3rd round F.A Cup tie.
Baring in mind of Southampton’s financial troubles, this was a dream cup tie. With the stadium now being full, a lot of money will be put back into the club. If the match was to end a draw, the replay at Old Trafford would be an appealing one to Saints fans and the board – and would bring in more money for the struggling Saints.
