Saints season seems to have picked up, although a sluggish second half performance saw the club drop two points in their latest match up against Leicester City.

New signings Van Dijk, Cedric and Romeu have all hit the ground running in their first ten games for the club, but it is the deadline day signing of the previous summer that is earning praise from club legend Matt Le Tissier.

Ever unpredictable on the pitch in his time at the Dell, the tricks, flicks and spectacular goals were something Le Tissier took pride in. As well as the vital goals, which helped Saints to maintain their Premiership status, his ability as an entertainer also kept fans wanting more.

Speaking to the Southern Daily Echo this week Le Tissier has revealed that he sees a similar spark in the 23 year old attacking midfielder:

“Sadio is the one who gets you on the edge of your seat. He`s so unpredictable and defenders find it difficult to keep up with someone with that much pace. He puts defenders on the back foot straight away. This season he does seem to have found something a little bit extra, which is terrific.”

Although it took a few weeks for Mane to adapt to the pace of the Premier League, he soon caught up and began to make a name for himself in England. This by netting 11 goals for the Saints, including a hat trick which went down as the fastest in Premier League history against Aston Villa.

Continuing that form into the current season, Mane has currently scored 4 goals in all competitions and has had a handful of assists to boot.

Though Sadio Mane was linked with moves away towards the end of the last transfer window, he has pledged his commitment to Southampton and it seems that his own performances and his flourishing partnership with striker Graziano Pelle could be something to watch out for as the season progresses.
