Mauricio Pochettino has said that he is a lover of English football and is excited about this opportunity to work in the Barclays Premier League.
In an interview which is on the Saints OS he said, “I am very passionate about the Premier League,” Pochettino said. “I have seen many games, the Premier League is an attractive league and I have spoken to people at length about it, people such as Jose Mourinho, who is a good friend of mine.’
He explained that he is an aggressive manager that likes his teams to play attacking football high up the pitch. “I`m an aggressive manager, in the positive sense, and I like to play dynamic, pressure football with an attacking nature that the fans can be proud of watching their team.”
He also admitted that the way Saints play helped bring him to the club. He is also a believer in having youth coming through the ranks which should be good news for the Academy players.
All in all this was a good first interview and will ease some of our worries about a possible change of style.
