Powell suspended

Former Crystal Palace man Darren Powell has been suspended for the first 3 games of the new season for saints after receiving a red card at Dean Court on Saturday.

Both managers had agreed it was just ‘handbags’ and should not have been punished in that way. But the Hampshire referee Keith Stroud still pulled out a red card.

He will miss the opener against his former side Crystal Palace, then the trip to the Posh in the Carling Cup. He will then sit out the game away at Carrow road.
